  • The Intentshare Index represents which platforms developers plan to adopt in the future, irrespective of which single platform they currently consider to be their ‘primary’ (normalised). Please bear in mind that when filtering by the primary platform, the graph changes to present the views of each platform’s developers (i.e. the platform they consider to be their primary)
  • Despite lukewarm sales, the majority of developers (57%) that intend to adopt a new platform plan to adopt Windows Phone
  • Android and iOS are currently used by 76% and 66% of developers so growth potential is limited compared to WP which currently has a much lower share
  • Also note that intention does not directly translate to adoption: Last year, 32% of developers said they intend to adopt WP but the share of WP among developers only rose by 1% this year
